Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune inflammatory disease that affects the central nervous system. MS is caused by damage to the fatty myelin sheath. Once this protective covering is damaged the nerves send signals slower or not at all. There is no known cure for MS and living with this disease is very difficult not only for the person with MS but their friends and family.
